This weekly drama workshop is designed as an introduction to acting, theatre basics, and more advanced performance practices as our course progresses.
Through instinct, collaboration with peers, and use of critical and creative thinking, we will cover techniques to become a more effective actor, performer, and storyteller!
By the end of our program, we aim to equip our students with the tools to assist them in independently preparing for future performances, auditions, presentations, and altogether, trust in their instincts to elevate their overall confidence.
5 sessions; 1 hour per session. Saturdays, starting August 8 10:00 - 11:00 AM
Learn theatre & acting basics, and confidently make individual and informed artistic choices.
Cover: Text Analysis, Character Development, and Thought Changes.
Become more effective performers, actors, or storytellers for productions, auditions, and other performances.
Receive a certificate of completion.
Be trained by a hands-on artist-instructor.
Rewatch past sessions for reference or guidance.

Chaye is a Musical Theatre graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art (Australia), where she has also been teaching for the NIDA Open Program for Children and Young People for over 5 years now. She is also a graduate of the Australian Performing Arts Grammar School, where she attended as a scholar specializing in Acting.
Chaye made her professional theatre debut at the age of 15 withRepertory Philippines’Camp Rock: The Musical, and since then has gone on to do productions such asAlice In Wonderland, The Producers,Miss Saigon, Guadalupe: The Musical,and most recently took part in the successful Original Filipino MusicalAng Huling El Bimbo.She has also been part of various Film and TV productions, including work forDisney Channel Australia

This is a one-time payment. You will need to enroll before the first session.
2. Will I need to leave the website to participate in activities?
Some advanced features like polls, allow-to-talk, and breakout rooms might not be available with your web browser. If you have compatibility issues, a "Join through your Zoom app" button will always be available to click anytime. It will open the Zoom app on your device and redirect you back into the meeting automatically. If you don't have the Zoom app installed, it will automatically prompt you through the easy installation process.
3. Will this class require parental supervision?
This class will require minimal parental supervision. You will need to login to your account and then give the device to your child (do not share login credentials like your password with your child). And although direct supervision is not required, an adult should be in the room with the child at all times.
4. Will I need to prepare materials?
Yes, you will need to buy or source all the tools, material, and equipment that is necessary for this class. Please check the "Materials needed" section found on this page.
