Jan is a professional dancer and same-sex ballroom dance advocate. With over 10 years of experience as a freelance dancer, he has worked with numerous celebrities, including Toni Gonzaga-Soriano as her private instructor, and Up Dharma Down to choreograph their “Indak” music video.
He began his dance training in college as a member of the Ateneo Dance Sport Club, under the tutelage of 2005 SEA Games Latin Dancesport gold medalist, Belinda Adora. In 2014, he received the Loyola Schools Award for the Arts for dance.
Jan briefly left the competitive ballroom dancing scene after graduating from college in 2014 to explore other dance genres such as ballet and belly dance. He started competing again in 2015, challenging gender roles in dancesport by advocating for and competing in same-sex partnerships. This led him to being listed in Meg Magazine's Thirty Outstanding People Under Thirty. He recently represented the Philippines in the 2018 Gay Games in Paris, France, and placed fourth in the Male-to-Male Latin Dancesport event.
